The number of Covid-19-related deaths in South Africa went up by 345 on Tuesday. Gauteng bore the brunt, with 116 people dying.The Western Cape saw 97 people dying, while 89 died in KwaZulu-Natal.
The number of people who died of Covid-19 went up by 345 on Tuesday, Health Minister Zweli Mkhize announced.

In the Eastern Cape, 43 people died, 89 in KwaZulu-Natal, and 97 in the Western Cape.
"This brings the cumulative number of deaths to 8 884," said Mkhize as he offered his condolences and thanked health workers.
The country has now recorded 521 318 confirmed Covid-19 cases, with 363 751 recoveries so far.
This is a recovery rate of 69.8%.
