Cheetahs fullback Craig Barry tied the knot with his long-term girlfriend, Genna, days prior to the ongoing 21-day South Africa lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Barry, 27, was educated at Paul Roos and represented both Western Province and the Stormers before signing a 3-year contract to play for the Cheetahs in the PRO14.
The Rugby Rocks website's Lerato Mkhondo interviewed the fleet-footed star, quizzing him on his big day.
What went through your mind on your wedding day?
Oh man, it was a day of mixed emotions. It was emotional and exciting at the same time. I don't think anything else can top my wedding day. I have achieved so much in my life but marrying Genna has been the greatest highlight of my life. It's a massive achievement for both of us.
How did you prepare for your wedding?
Honestly, I didn't do much. Genna was at the forefront of things and did such an incredible job.
Which rugby players attended the wedding?
Ramone Samuels was there. Herschel Jantjies, Dillyn Leyds and other friends couldn't make it because they were with their teams but I know they were with us in spirit.
What was the highlight of your wedding day?
When we read our vows. It was a true reflection of how well we actually understand and know each other. Everyone who was at the wedding, listening to our vows, couldn't stop nodding their heads because it was all real. Everything about our wedding and vows was purely genuine. I'm also glad our guests had a great time and enjoyed themselves.
