MAASIN CITY, Nov. 19 (PIA) -- The Department of Education (DepEd)-Maasin City Division recognized the different partners for the success of Brigada Eskwela 2019 in an awarding ceremony held Thursday here.
In a message delivered by Division Superintendent Genis S. Murallos, he quoted an African proverb, saying "it takes a village to educate a child."
By this, Murallos was grateful to the different stakeholders composed of the government organizations and non-government organizations for extending their support in making Brigada Eskwela successful.
He said that DepEd is at the forefront in providing access to relevant and quality education but, "we cannot do this alone, we need you," referring to the different stakeholders who actively supported the education department.
Among those who received the plaques of recognition were the Philippine National Police (PNP), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the GSIS, Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP), Bureau of Fire Protection, the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), and the city government of Maasin, among other government institutions.
The NGOs that were recognized by DepEd include Associated Media of Southern Leyte (AMSL), Leyte Island Association for the Deaf (LIAD), Philippine Red Cross-Southern Leyte Chapter, different schools in the locality, and Edmund Rise Services Inc., to mention a few.
DepEd recognized these partners for their exemplary and valuable contributions leading to the successful conduct of Brigada Eskwela 2019 with its theme dubbed as, "Matatag na Bayan para sa Maunlad na Paaralan." (e/rgc/PIA8-SoLeyte)
