Bosnian Serbs march for Radovan Karadzic
The Africa News.Net Saturday 26th July, 2008
Thousands of Bosnian Serbs have staged rallies throughout Serbia in support of its former leader Radovan Karadzic, who is facing trial on war crimes charges after being arrested on Monday in the Serbian capital Belgrade.
The marchers carried pictures of Mr Karadzic saying 'Serb hero' and 'We are with you.'
Mr Karadzic's lawyers have filed an appeal against his extradition to the United Nations war crimes tribunal in The Hague.
The tribunal will begin considering the appeal on Monday.
Before his capture, Mr Karadzic had been working in Belgrade and the Austrian capital Vienna, as an alternative healer under a false identity.
It emerged over the weekend that Austrian police let a Karadzic slip through their fingers after he was interviewed over a murder in Vienna.
Police broke down the door of his flat in western Vienna in May 2007.
The police were looking for a Serb accused of killing a man after a poker game in a local bar.
While being interviewed at his flat, Karadzic told the officers he was only passing through Vienna and had been training there as a healer for people with back problems, infertility, and men having difficulty with erections.
Police, satisfied with his story, left the building without verifying his paperwork.

The job weldone. Don’t let international court punish your leader. IC is not a nation and it is only an organization that will kill punish the powerless nation. Many people have been kill and IC is afraid to punish the murder. You Serb make it right and tell the IC you out of date.
